The genus Adelogorgia is distinguished from other holaxonians in having conspicuously ornamented double-disc sclerites and leaf clubs in the coenenchyme, and non-mineralised axis two eastern Pacific species currently recognised as Adelogorgia are diagnosed and new species for the genus are described from new localities and depth ranges. Three new species for the genus are described from new localities and depth ranges. Analysis of external and internal characters, especially sclerite colours and sizes, and colony colour, shape and branching, allows separating the species. An identification key to the five species is provided, as well as a character table for comparisons. Coral definition is - the calcareous or horny skeletal deposit produced by anthozoan or rarely hydrozoan polyps; especially: a richly red precious coral secreted by a gorgonian (genus Corallium). How to use coral in a sentence. (Rather interestingly, a parallel species in the genus Paracheilinus shared the same fate as Cirrhilabrus eilinus piscilineatus was also described by Cornic in the same publication, with only six lines to its description and erroneously named as Cirrhilabrus l finally amended all mistakes and redescribed Cirrhilabrus sanguineus in

Description What do Symphyllia Corals look like: The Symphyllia genus can grow in colonies that can be flat or dome shaped, with wide valleys that meander in curves and twists throughout the coral. At times, the valley can be so spacious on a new, single polyp, that it can look like a completely different species.
